| Bicycling in Provence,
France |
 |
| Succumb
to the relaxed pace and sunny disposition of Provence, an area rich
in truffles, lavender, honey and wine. Ride in the shadow
of spectacular Mont Ventoux, past the fertile vineyards of the Côtes
du Rhône. Take in the view of a picturesque valley from the cobblestone
steps of a medieval hill town. At dawn, witness the sun rising over
limestone peaks, softly bathing olive orchards in a warm glow. The countryside
soon awakens - markets burst with color and locals emerge to begin their
day, one that remains blissfully undisturbed by the bustle of the
21st century. Evenings radiate with the elegance of luxurious
retreats and exquisite dining experiences. A delightful combination of
active and romantic experiences for your vacation getaway. |

| Molokai Ranch - Molokai,
Hawaii |
 |
| Molokai
Ranch encompasses about 53,000 acres which is roughly one third of
the island. This is a working cattle ranch with real life cowboys
doing real life chores on a daily basis. Recently, activities
have been introduced that allow Molokai visitors the opportunity to
experience authentic ranch life first-hand. You can camp in style
and comfort at one of their new wilderness camps and optionally participate
in some terrific horseback activities. There's the Paniolo Roundup,
where ranch cowboys patiently teach even the greenest tenderfoot horsemanship
and rodeo skills, or venture out with the paniolos along the Great
Molokai Ranch Trail. |

| River Rafting the
Grand Canyon |
 |
| As an
out-of-this-world adventure, running the Colorado River through the
Grand Canyon could be ranked with a safari to the Serengeti Plain or
a trek
through the Himalayas. The experience is one of a kind. In eight memorable
days, you will cover some 277 river miles, negotiating nearly 200 exciting
rapids, but with safety, and in first-class comfort. To many,
the most thrilling event on a Grand Canyon voyage is riding the rapids.
The exhilaration
you feel as your raft plunges through the waves cannot be merely described,
it must be felt. Only after passing through such rapids as Soap Creek,
Hance, Sockdolager, Hermit, Crystal, and Lava Falls can one appreciate
the achievements of early river explorers. |

| Windjammer Barefoot
Cruise |
 |
| Experience
cruising the way pirates did centuries ago - on masted ships with
the wind at your back - but here informality
rules! T-shirts and shorts are all you need (eye patch optional). But
don't worry, your air conditioned cabin is complete with modern amenities.
Let the crew do all the work or take a turn at the helm and learn
the ropes. Do as little or as much as you like. Start your
day with complimentary Bloody Mary's, fresh baked breads and pastries,
followed by a bountiful breakfast. Lunch is served on board or
picnic style on the beach. Toast the sunset with hors d'oeuvres and
Rum Swizzles, but save room for a hearty dinner, complete with wine. In
the evening, put on your best toga or pirate gear and get ready to
party! This is the vacation we're sure that Sinbad would
have chosen. |

| Diving the Great Barrier
Reef - Australia |
 |
| The Great
Barrier Reef, off Australia's north-east coast, is one of the wonders
of the natural world. The
Reef is a site of remarkable variety and beauty and contains the world's
largest collection of coral reefs, with 400 types of coral, 1,500 species
of fish and 4,000 types of mollusc. The varied colours of the reef's
fish and other marine life will astound you with colour combinations
that artists haven't even dreamed of. Although you can dive
virtually 365 days of the year, local divers say the best time is October,
November and December, with water temperatures around 84 degrees (F)
and visibility between 60 and 90 (up to 150) feet most days. January
through to March is their monsoon season, with rain
in the early mornings and late afternoon. |

| Hiking the Coast-to-Coast
Trail - Northern England |
 |
| A
magnificent hike and a personal favorite of mine, this trail follows
Wainwright's famous Coast to Coast walk, linking together three of
England's finest National Parks, The Lake District, The Yorkshire
Dales, and The North York Moors. Start on the west coast at
St. Bee's Head on the Irish sea and gradually work your way over
the mountains and through the valleys until you eventually reach
Robin Hoods Bay on the east coast, where you can dip your feet in
the North Sea and savour the achievement of having walked all 195
miles across England. Along the way you'll stay in country
hotels, B&B's, guesthouses, farmhouses, and small inns,
carrying a lunch with you during the day (while your
luggage is transported to your next stop) and spending the evenings
dining at local pubs and meeting some of the warmest and friendliest
people to be found anywhere. |
